Final Rehersal

It had come down to our very last rehearsal which we had Monday afternoon, In this rehearsal we tidied everything up and made sure everything fitted in well with the lights and sounds. I think as a team we worked well this lesson on focussing to get through the practice concentrating to make it perfect. We are all ready to perform now tomorrow and feel confident :D This has been a great assignment working with Georgia, Maritza, Jayden and sav and I think we worked well together and came up with lots of good ideas!

Assignment lesson 7

Lesson 7:
My group and I came up with the characters that were going to be used in our play.


Charactersmum- Maritza
little girl, happy - Soph
little girl, sad - georgia
dad- Jayden
strange new characters (happy land) - Maritza, Jayden, Sav Bad people; Matirza, Sav, Jayden and Soph 

In this lesson we also made up our script for our first scene of our play (scary scene).

Mum - “Honey, I told you not to read those scary books before bed! Remember last time when you got nightmares?”Little girl - “Mum seriously its fine, I’m 8 I can handle it”.Mum - “Ok well, don’t come crying to me when you get scared”.Little girl - “Whatever mum, I won’t”.Read for 30seconds Little girl reads - “I turned around and all of a sudden everyone had turned against me and were out to kill me. I have never been so scared in my life, I had no one to talk to, or to help me, I felt so alone. The next thing I sai7.0\w was a knife in my mums hand, slowly coming closer to me”. Book was shut very fastLittle girl runs towards the mum saying - “Mum! I take it back, I scared!”.Mum turns around with mask onMum - “I told you not to read before bed darling”.Little girl - ahhhhhh “Who are you? Where’s my mum?!”Little girl runs to the audience asking if anyone has seen my dad. The dad is sitting in the audience with a mask on. Dad - “i’m right her, pumpkin”.Dad gets up and walks slowly towards the little girl. They mum and dad corner the little girl, but she escapes and runs out the door screaming “Mum, dad whats going on? This is just like my book!”. She slams the door, runs to the other door while there is a black out and the happy dream starts.
Change of scene
Opens the other door into happy land. “Don’t worry, be happy” is playing in the background. The little girl is walking around looking at everything and then the strange, happy characters jump out and they start dancing with the little girl. The song is “Million voices". 

we then rehearsed the first scene and worked on blocking. We finished and cleaned this scene by the end of the lesson and we also started to choreograph our dance in the 2nd scene. We have the idea of what is going to happen in our 2nd and 3rd scene so now all that is left is to write the lines and run it. 

Assignment lesson 6

Lesson 6:

For the first half of the lesson we plotted the main idea thats were going to occur in each of our scenes in the play. These are the ideas we came up with in brief sentences, we had to still work on them to make them right to use in our play:

• mum comes and says she shouldnt read the book before bed and she says okay and the mum says ill be in the kitchen if you need me and then later the little girl says mums this book is so scary, mum turns around and says i told you not to read it before bed
• audience sitting along the cupboard side of the door
• goes and runs to her mum and her mum and her mum turns around and she is possessed to
• goes to find her dad  and he's possessed aswell while he is sitting in the audience
• little girl tried to 
• she tried and open the front door to the house to escapes but it wont open, (audience member help)
• turns around to go back inside because she thinks this cant be real and then her mum and brother are standing at the door so she screams and slams the door
• runs out the far door and comes back in from the other door while it is a blackout and she comes back into happy land

Next dream:

• happy land
• dance
• shes walking around looking at everything, smiling
• all the characters pop out and they go into a dance
• after the dance there is a blackout and she hears a crack and looks over to the tree and scary characters heads pop out from behind the tree
• she is confused by everything but entrieved  

Next dream:

• Scary dream
• gets taken from her happy dream (change of scenes) & blackout
• she gets grabbed and from behind they put a black cloth over over it
• and tie her up
• she tries to wriggle put and get away
• she runs away and bumps into her mum and brother and they are saying whats wrong and she explains and then finds out it was all a dream

Assignment lesson 5

Lesson 5:

At the start of this lesson we discussed our party idea and decided that it will not fit the time limit as we did not have many ideas to go with it so we changed our idea,
- A girl reading a book and her book comes to life and her family turns against her and become character in her novel.
- We thought of having a number of different scenes in our play, for example. A scary scene which then leads into a happy scene but then bak into scary again.

We knew that we had left this late to change our idea so we had to get all of our ideas this lesson so that in our next lesson we could make up the lines or start the blocking and little bits of the scenes.

Assignment lesson 4

Lesson 4:

This lesson we got up and tried to put our ideas to action. We were trying to figure out the simple entries and exits first and we also worked on ways we could include the audience.

Some ways we thought of to include the audience were:
- My idea= have them lined up outside and then welcome them into at the front door with greetings and invitations
- Maritza's idea= Have mints to give them to act as drugs
- Savannah's idea= Explain to the audience at the start what the mints acted as and how it will put them into a dream world which we will be acting out
- Georgia's idea= While "thinking" the characters are getting chased. they can run through the audience and ask someone to help them escape from the man with the axe.

Assignment lesson 3

Lesson 3:
For the first half of this lesson we expanded on the thoughts we had that would be useful for this play.
The ideas that we came up with were:

• on drugs and think your at a party and include the audience- savannah

• walk in from different exits

• party invite- give them an invitation (involving the audience)- Sophie

• strobe lights

• explain at the start that the pills are representing a drug and this put them into their dreamworld but we are the characters acting out in there dreamworld- Georgia

• start of party- pump up music and then when everyone takes the music the music slows down and the lights change- Jayden

• while in the dreamworld, clowns, animals 

• could see a person in the audience and think theres ants on them

• awkward silence- Savannah

• we all think one person has an axe so we can run through the audience and around them and chase us all.

• scene goes black and music changes

- After we had read through all of our ideas we showed Mrs. Burley for feedback and got tolled that some of the ideas were going a bit of track and that we should focus on things such us:

• things growing out of you

• paranoid

• 1 person doing the drugs and the others are going to be the characters in it

• the room closing in on you

• people out to get us

- We then tried to put some of these ideas into action and this is a group idea we thought of:


At the start the person taking the drug says thats he's really scared of clown and he's friends say take this pill it will make you loose your fear of clowns and this is the pill that makes him high, later on he sees the clown chasing him with an axe. At the end they can all be standing around him like they are taking him down and making it look as if they have power of him, then he wakes up and they are gone and then he wakes up and realized none of it is real and he says he will never do drugs again. 

Assigment lesson 2

Lesson 2:

In this lesson my group and I talked about the ways we could use each of the ideas that we thought of last lesson and we decided that Savannah's idea (the drugs and alcohol) was the one to use because we came up with the most ideas that we could use put into the scenes of this play.
